In 2021 MSc Olga Cegielska took part in a one-month researcher exchange via lthaka program of the Polish National Agency For Academic Exchange (NAWA) in the Estonian University of Tartu, in the Institute of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine. During the visit she was involved in the ongoing research project at the Institute of Pharmacy “Development of novel antimicrobial drug delivery systems” under the supervision of Dr Karin Kogermann, the project leader. The research included evaluation of bacterial response to electrospun materials containing antiglaucoma active compound, brinzolamide, using selected bacteria that cause most common infectious eye diseases – Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. During the visit MSc Olga Cegielska gave a seminar on the research results at the Estonian Academical Society of Pharmacy and lnstitute of Pharmacy seminar series. The visit resulted in establishing a scientific cooperation.
