We have been taking part in the science festival for several years. This year's edition was held under the slogan "We vaccinate with science". Our activities took place on 21st and 23rd September 2021. A club meeting entitled "Tissue engineering - polymer scaffold for tissue regeneration and reconstruction" was led by: Dr Dorota Kołbuk, MSc Angelika Zaszczyńska, MSc Beata Niemczyk-Soczyńska, MSc Oliwia Jeznach and MSc Maryla Moczulska-Heljak. We presented our research topics including electrospinning, surface modification of fabricated fibers, piezoelectric fibers, 3D printing, and hydrogels for neural tissue engineering.
We also held a lecture with an accompanying laboratory titled: "The invisible world: looking through the scanning electron microscope". During the lecture, we presented the possibilities of scanning electron microscopy in comparison to light microscopy. The laboratory consisted of a closer look at the electrospinning process and polymer fibers as well as looking at some small organisms as well as cell culture on nanofibers with our SEM device. The meeting was led by MSc Judyta Dulnik and MSc Olga Cegielska.
